This is my first romance novel I read back in 1997. I was hooked from the first page. I was amazed that there were black romance novels out there, something I could relate too. I loved the sence of family, history, pride in our heritage and how the main characters were displayed as intelligent, successful and beautiful. This book and author will ALWAYS be dear to my heart.An excellent read. Please take my word and read the book!!!

I HAVE PULL IT DOWN TWICE TO ENJOY DURING A SLOW PERIOD. I LOVE BOOKS ABOUT BASKETBALL PLAYERS
FINDING THE PREFECT, TRUSTED LOVE MATE THAT TRULY LOVE THEM..
This book is worthy of a third read. Normally I give my books to charity, not this one. Donald is a man who is not afraid of going after what he wants despite rejection. Taylor is a woman who is confidant in her career but not in love. My only complaint was with Taylors insecurities. She used excuses to avoid her natural desires... Bette Ford description is erotic, sensual, sexy. She gives me something to strive for.
I totally loved this book. I read later books and was introduced to Taylor and Donald, but didn't know their story. The sparks fly between the two of them from the very beginning. Learning to trust is a big issue. It was good to see what caused the breakup between Jenna and Scott and put their story in prospective. Can't wait til other books in this series are available for .
This story was a little light-hearted, yet somewhat sexy. The story features a rich NBA player vying for the love of a middle class lady and seeing their worlds collide as they attempt to mesh their lives. Donald and Taylors story is in the genre of cinderella meets famous athlete and live happily ever after. Cute story. Although it was a little too much descriptive views of Donald's parts!!!
Bette Ford is a premier writer of the most sensous and heartwarming romances. In "After Dark" we are given a birds eye view of Donald and Taylor's hot, bumpy romance. I loved the way Ms Ford weaved bits and pieces of the Montgomerys and Randols (from her previous books, "For Always and Forever After")into the storyline. Donald is a gorgeous, famous NBA star and Taylor is the down-to-earth beauty he falls in love with. He practically moves heaven and earth to win her trust and love. The MANY delectable steamy love scenes left me breathless. Once again, Bette Ford delivers..this was pure satisfaction!
I thought it was good. Taylor had a cute innocence and vulnerability about her. Donald was your successful pro athlete who actually had to work for a woman for once in his life since Taylor was not turned on by all the glitz and glamor. I thought all the negativity about Alex going pro was a bit unnecessary, but oh well.
I would have given this 4 stars but this book has the most typos that I have ever seen in a digital book. There had to be a typo on every 2-3 pages. Someone really needs to edit this book and re-upload it. I really don't see how these were missed.
I had been trying to get a copy of this book for two years.All I can say is that if you havent yet read it,go get this book!It is hot! While I will say that I was initially put off by the instant mind numbing attraction that Taylor and Donald felt in their first meeting,they did not immedietly jump each others bones and afterward have the "big misunderstanding"through the rest of the book. Taylor ,while feeling the attraction of the super sexy basketball player,never becomes a doormat for her feelings. She has a brain and opinions and she is not afraid to disagree with Donald.She has insecurities about her attractivness because she is a full-figured lady and not very sexualy experienced.Her concern for her brother,an up and coming college basketball player considering jumping to the pros,is very comendable.That created the friction between her and Donald.I think her character is very real. Donald,on the other hand,is larger than life in more ways than one. His character is shown interacting with his family,doing charity work and being an all around great guy. This is supposed to show that he is a regular guy but come on. While I drooled over him,he never came alive for me the way that Taylor did. Ms.Ford did highlight what these guys go through with the groupies. The scene at the end when Taylor travels to surprise Donald in Atlanta shows the scams that some of these women go to to snag a b-ball player. All in all this was a great read and highly reccommened.
